Kristen Anne Bell is an American actor and singer born in the year 1980. She is a Michigan native who was born and was raised by her parents Lorelei Frygier (a nurse) as well as Tom Bell (a TV news director). Kristen is born in Polish heritage (mother) in addition to German, English and Scottish (father). Kristen realized her potential in the entertainment industry at a young age. When she was in 1992, the actress appeared at her first audition and won a role in Raggedy Ann and Andy. Bell's mom enrolled her with an agency just before she turned 13; she then appeared in television advertisements as well as newspaper advertisements. She also started taking private acting classes around that time. Bell appeared in Polish Wedding (2000) in 1998 as an uncredited actor. Bell was part of the drama and music clubs of Shrine Catholic High School. The Wizard of Oz production at her highschool won Bell the role of the lead Dorothy character. Bell then moved in New York City, to the Tisch School of the Arts. She was a musical theatre student there. Bell, who graduated in 2001, left her university studies to perform her role as Becky in Tom Sawyer. The was the same year that she also made her first credited debut in Pootie Tang (2001), however her character was deleted and her appearance exists only in the credits sequence. The year 2002 saw her first major role. Bell was in the Broadway production of The Crucible with Liam Neeson as well as Angela Bettis.
